Privacy
Short version: we store as little as we can, we don't track you across the web, and you can delete your account at any time.
Without an account
- No tracking cookies, no ads, no analytics scripts.
- Your theme choice (light/dark) is saved in your browser's local storage, not sent to us.
- Our server sees your IP address with each request. We use it briefly in memory for rate limiting (to stop spam) and it may appear in short-lived server logs for troubleshooting.
With an account
When you sign in with Discord, Steam or GitHub we receive and store:
- your account ID on that service, and your public name and avatar (and your GitHub username, or Discord name);
- what you do here: forum posts, likes, follows, votes, submitted projects, Works for me reports, notifications, and the games you tick in My games.
We never see your password. If you use Steam import on My games, we ask Steam for your owned games list once and keep only which listed games you own.
A sign-in cookie (ph_session) keeps you logged in. It's strictly necessary and contains only your account number and a signature.
Content from other sites
Pages show images loaded directly from GitHub, Steam's image servers, and the image hosts that project READMEs use. Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed (youtube-nocookie.com). Those services see your IP address when your browser loads them, as with any website.
Who sees what
- Your profile, posts, requests and Works for me reports are public.
- Your followed projects are shown on your public profile.
- Your My games library and notifications are private.
- Moderators can see reports and the moderation log.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete account removes your name, avatar, linked accounts, follows, votes, likes, library and notifications immediately. Your forum posts stay, shown as "Deleted user", so conversations still make sense. If you also want specific posts removed, delete them first or ask a moderator.
